To make a turn, one driving wheel will rotate a bit faster or slower than the other. Because a power wheelchair is more expensive than the mobility scooter, Medicare wants to absolutely make sure you are not capable of driving a mobility scooter before they will agree to reimburse you for your Medicare sponsored power wheelchair. One reason for your inability to use a mobility scooter instead could be due to a general weakness in your arms or upper body.
